Aims
The Brazilian Microbiome Project (BMP) aims to assemble a Brazilian Metagenomic Consortium/Database. At present, many metagenomic projects underway in Brazil are widely known. Our goal is to co-ordinate and standardize these, together with future projects. There is no prioritization of specifics taxonomic groups, then, all proposals and any help will be very welcome.
Why

There are many metagenomic projects underway in Brazil but they are not connected. Also, the initiative gives more visibility to such unique and poorly explored diversity. Integrating these projects is the main BMP goal. This will allow us to develop technology, improve our human resources and integrate better with the other global projects.
